Leaving your comfort zone

Wednesday 28 January 2015

My New Year's Resolution for last year was to get our of my comfort zone.
I was in a bit of a rut and needed a change. I spent a lot of my time waiting for change and wondering when opportunities would arise.

As I began to take more chances my life instantly picked up. Taking chances or really just doing things that might make you a bit nervous can have really positive outcomes. I find that by trying new things I have learnt so much about who I am and what I want.

Getting out of my comfort zone has been so incredibly rewarding. It's not always an easy thing to do to push yourself however, more often than not the outcome makes any feelings of worry or doubt worth it.

I know this may sound rather simple and obvious but for me I didn't realise these things until I had gone through them. Before I took chances I was worried about the outcome. After I started to get out of my comfort zone and really push for things I wanted I realised how easy it is to achieve things if you just put in the effort.

So I suppose this is a little push. If you want something go and get it because nobody is going to do it for you. Experience breeds confidence and the more things you try the more you will realise you are able to achieve.

How do you feel about leaving your comfort zone? Let me know!

  3. I agree with you so much! It's hard to get out of my comfort zone, but when you do, it's so rewarding. My life recently feels like it's such a repetitive cycle of getting up and doing pretty much nothing special. I'm looking for some classes, projects or a job now to add some spice to my life :)

  7. It can be easy to just get stuck in a bit of a rut and say no to things that could potentially put us outside our comfort zones. It's great to hear that taking chances has had a positive outcome for you, thank you for sharing. :)

  14. I have to be in the mood to leave my comfort zone. I can work a room with the best of them but it has to be the right mood.

  15. Ah definitely agree with this! I mean nothing will ever change if you always do the same things. I think it's fab to always challenge yourself and push into doing new things! x

  17. Yearly, we promise to get out of our comfort zone but fears, doubts creep in and we're left not doing it. I believe it boils down to the decision if we're going to do it or not do it at all. I personally had issues with not going for what I really want because of fear of failure but then I realized when I fear that "fear" I end up being more of a failure instead of trying. So keep on getting out of that comfort zone, tackle difficulties and be a success! :)

  19. I definitely agree. I was starting to become a bit 'snobbish' about things I have never done, or hadn't done in years. So January was pretty much filled with attending loads of sports events to really throw my comfort zone out of whack. Crowds and sport in general (except tennis and ice hockey) isn't really my thing, but I've been to the AusOpen, a soccer game and done some archery. 2014 me would have laughed at 2015 me, but don't care at all. Good luck with your year, I bet it's going to be amazing.

You are so right about leaving our comfort zones. I have yet to try it. It's a scary to go to the unknown but you are right, I'll never know i can do it until i've tried. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day.
