Eight must-have makeup brushes

Wednesday 21 January 2015

I am a huge lover of makeup brushes. I love to use them, but I also just love a pretty brush on my makeup table. Using the right brush when applying makeup is essential. The brush you use can really affect the way your makeup looks. I own too many brushes honestly, but I just can't seem to help myself. However, I wanted to share with you my favourite brushes, the ones that I use daily. These are the eight brushes that are essential to my collection.

The Multitask brush by Real Techniques
I am a huge fan of the Real Techniques line. I find that they are just as good as high end brushes if not better. They are so easy to wash, which is something I really love about the brand. This brush in particular is amazing as it can be used for so many different things. In the past I have used it to apply bronzer. At the moment though I love to use it to apply blush. It even disperses the product and blends the blush in seamlessly.

101 Luxe Face Definer brush by Zoeva
There was so much hype around this brand and so I had to see what I thought for myself. Ultimately I really like their brushes. This brush is great for bronzer and with a light hand it can be used to contour the face really nicely.

Buffing brush by Real Techniques
This is my ultimate liquid foundation brush. This brush changed the way I apply makeup. It blends foundation into my skin perfectly. I also don't need to use too much foundation as the brush doesn't hold too much product, but rather it buffs it into the skin.

Mineral brush by Nude
I have had this brush since I first started to get into makeup and it is still the same as when I first bought it. It was inexpensive and does a great job. I use this when I apply mineral powder foundation. It is such a great brush, especially for people just starting to use makeup.

Setting brush by Real Techniques
I use this brush for two things. Firstly, with a setting powder. Sometimes you don't want to apply too much setting powder and this brush is great for applying it just in certain spots. Secondly, I use this brush sometimes with a concealer.

227 Luxe Soft Definer brush by Zoeva
This brush is amazing for blending in eyeshadow. Blending eyeshadow is so important as it really finishes the look. I usually just use my finger to place the majority of the eyeshadow to my lid, then I go in with this brush just to define and blend it into the crease of the lid.

Eye Brow brush by Bobbi Brown
I like to define my brows slightly with a powder and this brush helps me do that. I simply dab the brush into the palette and apply it onto my brows. Simple and effective. This brush is great because you can pick up as much product as you want and the angle of the brush is great for creating the shape you want.

Spooly
Last but not least, the handy spooly. I love a good spooly. I find it necessary to brush through my brows before I apply anything to them. This way I can see the shape properly. These are affordable and a must have in my opinion.

Have you guys tried any of these brushes or do you have a brush recommendation for me? Let me know!
