Rejuvenating Routine

Monday 20 October 2014

Being busy can be great. However, it can also mean that you don't give yourself time to look after yourself. I am currently at the end of my uni year, which is amazing but also stressful. I have final assignments due and exams around the corner. So I thought I would share with you how I pamper and take care of myself when I take a little time out.

A walk
Putting time aside to go for a walk can really help you to relax. Walking helps to refresh your mind and getting your body moving helps with any tightness in your body. After working at a desk all day going outside and getting some fresh air makes an incredible difference to your state of mind.

A bath
A warm bath is my favourite way to relax and forget about the busyness around me. While the bath is running I add a cap and a half of the QV Bath Oil. It might not look like much from the packaging, but believe me when I say this stuff works wonders. The oil sinks into your skin and once you moisturise you have silky smooth skin for days after. It is extremely affordable and totally worth a try, especially if you have dry skin. The oil also helps the Clarins Aromatic Essence  to sink in to your skin. I have the essence in the scent blue orchid and I add three drops to my bath.
My perfect relaxation mask is the Aesop Parsley Seed mask, as it is luxurious and gives great results. I put the creamy mud mask on at the start of my bath and take it off just before I get out, giving it time to work its magic.
The candle I have beside my bath is by K.Hall Studio.

A cup of tea
Keeping healthy is so important when you are busy. I love tea and when I am feeling a little under the weather I make my favourite ginger, honey and lemon tea. Simply boil some water and add in a mug, a squeeze of lemon, three small pieces of cut up ginger and a tea spoon of honey.
This tea is my remedy in a mug. It is perfect for sore throats, sniffles, or a little health boost.

I know that this routine is nothing too revolutionary but I hope you have enjoyed my little spin on things.

How do you rejuvenate yourself?

  25. Great tips! Our routine is very similar, though I usually opt for a yoga class instead of a walk, and a cappuccino instead of tea (though your option is WAY healthier!). Lovely post :)
