Empties Review

Monday 2 June 2014

I love reading empties reviews as you know the product has been well tested.
These are four of my recent products that I have finished.
Some I have loved and repurchased, others I was disappointed with and they will not be making a reappearance in my shopping bag.

Rejuvenate Intensive Body Balm by Aesop
I have this balm in the scent tangerine rind, vanille and sandalwood and it is by far one of my favourite products on the planet *slightly dramatic *. I apply this to any dry spots I have on my body and they are dramatically improved if not gone. The scent is so warm and applies evenly without leaving an oily residue, which I love. I especially love using this on my elbows because they can get very dry. The packaging is not perfect. It looks and feels great however I find this sort of packaging often gets rips in it. It is quite pricey and my wallet did cry a little when I purchased it, but it has really done wonders for my skin.
I will definitely repurchase the intensive body balm again, but I might see what other scents are available.

Head Remedy Dandruff Shampoo by KMS California
This products claims to eliminate flakes and provide soothing relief to itchy scalp and I think it does do this. This shampoo doesn't strip the hair leaving it dry, like some other dandruff shampoos have. It leaves my hair glossy and overall I do really like this shampoo.
I have repurchased this shampoo, however I would like to try a new one soon. Any suggestion?

My Coconut Island Bath and Shower Gel by Treacle Moon
What I loved most about this product was its consistency.  It glides really well over the skin and you can really lather it up if you want to. The aroma is really nice but I would say if you don't like really sweet products then maybe try a different scent. The only weakness I found with this product was that when I used it in the bath it did slightly dry out my skin however, it did create lovely luxurious bubbles.
I won't be repurchasing this, mostly because there are so many other body washes I want to try.

Paw Paw Balm by Natures Care
This product was recommended to me by a friend but sadly I was very disappointed. I did not like this product at all. It claims to naturally relieve dry skin, moisturise, soothe and protect. I found on my skin type it did not achieve this. It was very oily and didn't sink into the skin well. On my lips it did nourish them but for a very short time, after which they became even dryer. On my skin I found it left a really oily residue and slid off my skin rather than sinking in.
Needless to say I will not be repurchasing this product any time soon.

  1. The only one of these I've tried is the Paw Paw Balm and I didn't even finish it! haha I didn't like it at all. For me the taste on my lips was way too strong (if that even makes sense). Even though I usually like smelly products it was just a little sickly for me. I definitely prefer good old Lucas' Papaw ointment!

  2. Ah if you are after a serious lip treatment, I highly recomment the Nuxe Reve De Mile. Honestly the best lip balm I have ever used :)
I love reading what people have used up, I find this way you truly get a proper review :)
